"The National Corn Program, one of the banner programs of the Department of Agriculture, aims to increase production of quality corn cassava for human consumption and industrial uses. It also aims to improve the quality of corn grits and cassava, increase productivity, reduce postharvest losses, and increase profitability and competitiveness of the corn and cassava industry.
DA-BAR continuously coordinates with research for development institutions and stakeholders to ensure a steady supply of corn and cassava. To enhance production, reduce postharvet losses, and increase consumption of white corn and cassave, farmers are continuously provided with appropriate technologies such as genetic conservation and utilization, site specific nutrient management, integrated pest management, community-based participatory action research, varietyal improvement, production and postproduction mechanization through partner implementing agencies."
