2019 National Review of CGUARD Projects

Fourteen completed projects under the Corn Germplasm Utilization through Advanced Research and Development (CGUARD) Program were reviewed on 18-20 September 2019 in Diliman, Quezon City.

 

Spearheaded by the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) through its Program Monitoring and Evaluation Division and Program Development Division, the activity served as venue for regional field offices to showcase accomplishments and set action plans for the CGUARD program. Strategies to improve its implementation were also entertained during and in-between presentations.

 

Present during the review were Dr. Artemio Salazar of the University of the Philippines Los Baños; and Dr. Candido Damo of the Department of Agriculture (DA) - National Corn Program; and select corn focals from BAR

 

CGUARD is a program led by the DA-National Corn Program funded through BAR which aims to conserve native and traditional varieties of corn found in the country.
