Traditionally thought of as waste material in corn production, maize silk (Maydis stigma) is a collection of fine, soft, fiber-like threads from the flower of the corn plant. To maximize all parts of the corn, the Cagayan Valley Research Center (CVRC) of the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) 2 developed a food product with maize silk as the main ingredient.
