The Magna Carta of Women mandates all agencies to mainstream Gender and Development (GAD) to their respective agencies’ plan, programs, projects, and activities. One such approach prescribed for the harmonization of GAD to the agencies’ activities is to capacitate their staffs on GAD concepts, issues, and policies. As it is believe that it is through appreciation and awareness of the current gender issues permeating in the society, it is much easier to move forward the cause of both men and women especially in the agriculture and fisheries sector.

In compliance to the law, the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) conduct a series of capacity building that includes gender mainstreaming, gender analysis and gender-responsive planning and budgeting, and gender sensitivity training (GST).

As a continuity from the previous trainings conducted, a second batch of GST was organized by BAR for its administrative staff. The same training was already conducted by the bureau for its GAD focal and alternate focal persons, and members of the Executive Committee and Technical Working Group.
