30th NRS Initial Evaluation

A total of 156 research papers were subjected to initial evaluation to qualify for the upcoming 30th National Research Symposium (NRS).

Staged annually by the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) through the Institutional Development Division (IDD), the NRS identifies best scientific papers on agriculture and fisheries conducted by Filipino researchers from various agencies such as the Department of Agriculture (DA), state universities and colleges, and other institutions under the DA’s National Research and Development System for Agriculture and Fisheries (NaRDSAF).

Present during the initial evaluation activity held at BAR were experts from different partner-agencies of the bureau serving as judges and evaluators. All research paper entries were categorized as follows: Basic Research; Applied Research (Technology Generation/Information

Generation/Technology Adaptation/Technology Verification) for Agriculture and Engineering and Postharvest; Applied Research and Development (Technology Generation/Information Generation/Technology Adaptation/Technology Verification) for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources; Socio-Economics; and Development for Agriculture.

Entry papers with a score of 80% and above will count as qualifiers, from which only the top three of each category/subcategory with a score of 85% or higher will present during the symposium proper on 7 November 2018 at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City. The awarding ceremony will follow on the 8th of November. ###

The initial screening is the activity that precedes the symposium proper where the panel of judges score paper entries to determine the 30th NRS qualifiers and presenters
