Evaluation of On-going AFACI-Funded Projects

 

 

Highlights of accomplishments of on-going projects under the Philippine Department of Agriculture (DA) and the South Korea Asian Food and Agriculture Cooperation Initiative (AFACI) partnership were presented by the principal investigators in the annual evaluation held on 14 June 2018 in Quezon City.

Dr. Nicomedes P. Eleazar, director of the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) and head of the AFACI-Agricultural Technology Information Network in Asia (ATIN) in the Philippines, attended the event. He was joined in by a panel of internal evaluators in the conduct of the AFACI projects review.

In his message, Director Eleazar shared a brief history on how the partnership between the DA and AFACI started and mentioned that BAR, as the research and development coordinating agency of the DA, has been facilitating the annual conduct of AFACI-related activities including the consolidation of AFACI-funded projects in the Philippines since 2009.

Among the projects presented were on good agricultural practices, rice plant hopper management, plant genetic resources, postharvest technology of horticultural crops, and the agricultural technology information network. ###
