2018 AgriTalk Cabanatuan.



The Luzon leg of the AgriTalk Free Seminars was held on June 9, 2018 at SM City Cabanatuan Events Center, Nueva Ecija. Agritalk was organized by the Manila Bulletin, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), and the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR).

Participated by more than 500 individuals, the activity provided an avenue for individuals and groups of agriculture practitioners on the latest trends and technologies in agricultural development. Specifically, the activity aimed to showcase the latest agricultural technologies to improve technology adoption, demonstrate how these technologies work through demonstration, emphasize its benefits and significance as these include good agricultural practices, and highlights the return of investment of each technology.

Welcoming the attendees were Atty. Jennilyn Dawayan, DA-RFO 3 Regional Technical Director for Research Regulatory and Integrated Laboratory Division; Mr. Ian Belleza, branch manager of Manila Bulletin’s Agriculture Magazine; and Ms. Veronica Concepcion Esguerra, Central Director of ATI- Regional Training Center 3.

Among the topics discussed during the seminar were: 1) Making Organic Concoctions by Mr. Juniper Dizon of DA-RFO 3; 2) Square Foot Gardening by Mr. Honorio Cervantes of ATI; 3) Mushroom Production by Dr. Emily Soriano of DA-RFO 3; 4) Sustainable Vegetable Production and Farm Tourism by Ms. Desiree Duran of Duran Farm Agribusiness and Training Center Association, Inc. 5) Goat Production Technologies by Mr. Robinel Ocampo of DA-RFO 3; and 6) Livestock (Large Ruminant) Production and Enterprise in Farm Tourism by Mr. Celestino Managuit of Jocel Farm.

Agritalk Cabanatuan is the second of the seminar series for 2018. The first seminar was already conducted in Iloilo City in May, while the third seminar will be held in Davao for Mindanao. ###
