Groundbreaking Ceremony of DARUARS Multipurpose R&D Facility.

The Davao Region Upland Agriculture Research Station (DARUARS) led a groundbreaking ceremony of their Multipurpose Research and Development Center in Marahan, Marilog District, Davao City on 29 November 2017.

The ceremony kicked off with a traditional ritual performed by Datu Lihunay Ansudo, an elder of the Ubo-Manubo Tribe.

Attending the event were DA Regional Field Office 11 officials headed by Dr. Angelina S. Pancho, regional technical director for research and regulations; Dr. Juanito C. Lupiba, research division chief; and Mr. Prospero S. Tanutan, DARUARS chief. Ms. Digna L. Sandoval, head of BAR-Institutional Development Division graced the event, representing BAR Director Nicomedes P. Eleazar.

Funded under the BAR-Institutional Development Grant, the multipurpose R&D facility aims to provide farmers the means to access different farming technologies generated from the works of the R&D community. ###
