DA-NVES Project Briefing with DA-BAR

In a short briefing, the DA-Nueva Vizcaya Experiment Station (DA-NVES) officials led by OIC-chief Arsenio Apostol Jr. gave status updates on DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR)-funded projects being implemented by the station to DA-BAR assistant director for Programs Joell Lales on 20 September 2022 in Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya.

DA-NVES senior science research specialist Salvador Bulda shared that the production and processing of muscovy ducks is now the main source of livelihood by farmers in their province. He also added that Muscovy duck processed products, Pato-Chon and Pato-Tim, have high demands in Nueva Vizcaya.

Assistant director Lales dropped by the DA-NVES to get project updates and share the new direction of the bureau, focusing on scaling and technology transfer and achieving outcomes and impacts from the various technologies harvested through the various BAR funded researches. He then encouraged DA-NVES to focus on the production and processing of muscovy ducks after Bulda reported that it has a wide market in Nueva Vizcaya groceries. 

He also advised DA-NVES to focus on prolonging the shelf life of ginger, another major product of the station, so that distribution and supply will be available all year round. ###
