The DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR), in collaboration with the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), held its National Agriculture and Fisheries Research for Development Agenda and Programs (NAFRDEAP) 2023-2028 Integration Workshop on 30 August to 2 September 2022 via Cisco WebEx.

The workshop aimed to devise a timely and relevant set of research for development (R4D) areas as a guide for DA-BAR’s R4D partners for the next medium term. It provided a venue to consolidate all R4D priorities on agriculture and fisheries in three periods namely, High Priority (needs to be addressed within 2023); Medium Priority (needs to be addressed within 2024-2025), and Low Priority (needs to be addressed between 2026-2028) in preparation for the National Multi-stakeholder Consultation Workshop.

The priority R4D areas were presented by commodity focals from the bureau.  Afterwhich, UPLB experts of various commodities and cross-cutting areas provided inputs and technical guidance during a two-day plenary session.
