Committee to review DA websites created

The Department of Agriculture (DA) has recently created a committee to conduct/assess DA offices’ websites with Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (BAS) Director Romeo S. Recide as chair and Information Technology Center for Agriculture and Fisheries (ITCAF) Director Roberto G. Villa as co-chair.

Mr. Angel Morcozo Jr., head of KMD, Mr. Ricarte Castro, asisstant KMD head, and Ms. Arlene Balagot of the Information and Communication Technology Section (ICTS) represented the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) during the Bureau’s website presentation.

The Committee was formed to improve the delivery of services through ICT and other e-services to DA’s clientele. It aims to establish common standards and guidelines that will be adopted by DA websites; undertake a review/assessment of the existing DA websites (agencies, bureaus, and regional field units); and discuss with DA bureaus, attached agencies, and regional field unit representatives the recommendation and deadlines to further improve the agency’s website presentation and content.

Other regular members of the committee were: Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service (AMAS) Director Salvador S. Salacup, Agriculture and Fisheries Information System Dir. Inez Magbual, officer-in-charge (OIC) Dir. for Planning Service Agnes Catherine T. Miranda, OIC-Dir. for Policy Analysis Service Noel A. Padre, and OIC-Dir. for Field Operations Service Francisco A. Ramos. The on-call members are representatives from GMA Rice Program, GMA Corn Program, GMA High Value Commercial Crops (HVCC) Program, and the GMA Livestock Program.
