Research Coordination Division (RCD)

 

Functions

• Coordinates, monitors and evaluates the implementation of agriculture and fisheries R&D/E activities under the national/regional R&D/E networks agenda and programs;
• Establishes and strengthens linkages collaboration among existing R&D/E systems at the national and regional levels to enhance sustained growth in agriculture and fisheries;
• Assists/participates in periodic reviews, workshops, meetings of the national/regional R&D/E networks and stakeholders;
• Assists in the formulation and updating of the NIRDEAP and RIRDEAP;
• Facilitates the processing and release of financial contributions to partner R&D/E institutions;
• Assists in the identification and assessment of technology/ information for adaptation, verification, commercialization, disseminations and patenting; and
• Maintains and updates database/inventory of agriculture and fisheries R&D/E projects.

Crops Section

• Conducts regular field visits and monitors the physical and financial status of crops R&D/E activities;
• Assists/participates in periodic reviews, workshops, meetings of the crop national/regional  networks and stakeholders;
• Identifies problems/issues and recommends solutions and enhances feedback mechanism in the implementation of crop R&D/E activities;
• Coordinates with BAR divisions and DA concerned units in the implementation and evaluation  of DA banner programs i.e., GMA-Rice, Corn, HVCC;
• Facilitates processing and release of financial contributions to partner R&D/E institutions;
• Consolidates the physical and financial accomplishment reports of the national crop networks.
• Participates in the formulation and updating of crops R&D/E agenda and program; and
• Assists in the development. and maintenance of inventory of crop technologies/information of the national/regional networks.

Livestock and Poultry Section

• Conducts regular field visits and monitors the physical and financial status of livestock and poultry R&D/E activities;
• Assists/participates periodic reviews, workshops, meetings of the livestock and poultry national/regional  networks and stakeholders;
• Identifies problems/issues and recommends solutions and enhances feedback mechanism in the implementation of livestock and poultry R&D/E activities;
• Coordinates with BAR Divisions and DA concerned units in the implementation and evaluation  of DA banner programs i.e., GMA-livestock, and others;
• Facilitates processing and release of financial contributions to partner R&D/E institutions;
• Consolidates the physical and financial accomplishment reports of the national livestock and poultry networks.
• Participates in the formulation and updating of  livestock and poultry R&D/E agenda and program; and
• Assists in the development. and maintenance of inventory of livestock and poultry technologies/information of the national/regional networks.

Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Section

• Conducts regular field visits and monitors the physical and financial status of fisheries and aquatic resources R&D/E activities;
• Assists/participates in periodic reviews, workshops, meetings of the fisheries and aquatic resources national/regional networks and stakeholders;
• Identifies problems/issues and recommends solutions and enhances feedback mechanism in the implementation of fisheries and aquatic resources R&D/E activities;
• Coordinates with BAR Divisions and DA concerned units in the implementation and evaluation of DA Banner programs i.e., GMA fisheries and others;
• Facilitates processing and release of financial contributions to partner R&D/E institutions;
• Consolidates the physical and financial accomplishment reports of the national fisheries and aquatic resources networks.
• Participates in the formulation and updating of fisheries and aquatic resources R&D/E agenda and program; and
• Assists in the development and maintenance of inventory of fisheries and aquatic resources technologies/information of the national/regional networks.

Products, Resources, and Systems Section

• Conducts regular field visits and monitors the physical and financial status of products, resources and systems R&D/E activities;
• Assists/participates periodic reviews, workshops, meetings of the products, resources and systems National/Regional networks and stakeholders;
• Identifies problems/issues and recommends solutions and enhances feedback mechanism in the implementation of products, resources and systems R&D/E activities;
• Coordinates with BAR Divisions and DA concerned units in the implementation and evaluation of DA Banner programs i.e., GMA programs;
• Facilitates processing and release of financial contributions to partner R&D/E institutions;
• Consolidates the physical and financial accomplishment reports of the national products, resources and systems networks.
• Participates in the formulation and updating of products, resources and systems R&D/E agenda and program; and
• Assists in the development and maintenance of inventory of products, resources and systems technologies/information of the national/regional networks.
